Un hincha de Nacional
La cosa es así: nací y me crié en un hogar nacionalófilo (quiere decir hincha de Nacional).
Entre álbumes de football que mi padre atesoraba y los cuentos familiares con mis tíos, que salvo uno eran todos tricolores no pude menos que salir también yo tricolor.
El club se fundó el 14 de mayo de 1899, por lo que detenta el decanato entre todos los equipos que hoy siguen existiendo. Los hubo anteriores, el Albion y luego el CURCC (Central Uruguayan Railway Cricket Club).
El Albion desaparece en la historia y el CURCC se disuelve. De las cenizas del CURCC nacerá el club Peñarol, con nombre del barrio dónde se ubicaba la terminal de trenes. Esos dos equipos anteriores a Nacional eran clasistas y pro ingleses, hacían del fútbol un deporte de élite.
Es así que en contraposición a ellos se funda el club Nacional de Football, cuadro en el que jugaran hombres salidos de los más diversos estratos sociales. Es el primer cuadro que admite jugadores de raza negra.
Hubo un hecho muy importante que copio de Wikipedia, y fue: Las selecciones de Uruguay y Argentina se enfrentaban en un partido anual, con localía intercalada. En el momento de seleccionar los jugadores para el partido del 13 de septiembre de 1903, la Comisión de la Football League nombró una mayoría de jugadores de Nacional, quien era el campeón invicto. En consecuencia el CURCC, molesto por esta situación, renunció a formar parte del combinado. Lo mismo ocurrió con dos jugadores del Montevideo Wanderers Fútbol Club citados para sustituirlos. Ante esta situación Nacional asumió con todos sus jugadores la representación de la selección uruguaya.
Como consecuencia de eso, una de las camisetas alternativas del club es jugar con la celeste, camiseta que identifica al equipo Uruguay en el plano deportivo.
Agrego que mi padre jugó al fútbol hasta los 45 años, y en su juventud lo hizo en el club Nacional en momentos en que los cuadros tenían (Peñarol también) un equipo de primera y tres terceras. Lo hizo en tercera división y jugó con compañeros que brillaron más tarde en primera.
En cuanto a los colores y al equipo vuelvo a citar a Wikipedia:
Colores y uniforme[editar] En la sesión constitutiva se eligieron los símbolos del club, los cuales fueron inspirados en la bandera de la Provincia Oriental creada por el prócer uruguayo, José Gervasio Artigas.
Luego de la fusión inicial se planteó el inconveniente de quien sería el Capitán del equipo, el alma mater de la gestión deportiva. Por sorteo entre los capitanes de los clubes fundadores, Domingo Prat del Uruguay Athletic pasó a ser el primer capitán mientras que Sebastián Puppo del Montevideo se desempeñó como el primer presidente de la institución.
En cuanto al uniforme, Nacional es de los pocos clubes del mundo que mantiene el mismo equipo deportivo y bandera desde el año 1902. La primera camiseta tenía los colores de la bandera de Artigas: la camisa roja, con cuello, bocamanga y cartera azules; además los jugadores llevaban un gorro rojo con una borla azul. El 24 de marzo de 1902 el equipo cambió su casaca por mandato de la Asamblea pues la camiseta roja se desteñía, definiendo un nuevo uniforme con pantalón azul, faja roja y camisa blanca adoptada del Defensa FC, que se había unido a Nacional en la temporada de 1900. Por iniciativa de Domingo Prat se creó la bandera el 23 de mayo de 1902, que fue diseñada por Ernesto Caprario. El 30 de mayo de 1902, por moción de Caprario se resolvió el complemento del uniforme: una banderita con las iniciales C. N de F. que debía colocarse sobre el bolsillo de la camisa. Desde entonces, el uniforme oficial ha permanecido inalterado, con la desaparición del bolsillo en la camisa, y con la excepción del uso de pantalón y medias blancas en ocasiones especiales.
Una particularidad es que usaba camisa con bolsillo y sobre el bolsillo iba colocada la insignia. Por eso del bolsillo se ganó el mote de bolsilludos.
En 117 años de existencia ha logrado infinidad de triunfos nacionales e internacionales: entre ellos salir 3 veces campeón intercontinental, ganar 3 veces la copa Libertadores y muchos etcétera que se pueden encontrar.
El ser hincha de un equipo es una cuestión irracional, puede que algún fundamento pequeño pueda existir pero lo fundamental es que te gusta el cuadro y ya está. Ha habido duelos por diferencias futboleras y hoy, en los tiempos que estamos viviendo, no es raro encontrar noticias de violencia en cualquier partido que se juegue.
Así que, pese a quien pese, seguiré siendo hincha de Nacional hasta que la parca me pase p’al otro barrio!!
A national fan
